Ernest Freeman Town Park

Ernest Freeman Town Park is centrally located in the Town of Stedman at 192 Euclid Street. The park encompasses 2.23 acres and provides a welcoming space for residents and visitors to enjoy outdoor recreation and community activities.

In 2005, the Town received a Parks and Recreation Trust Fund (PARTF) grant that funded improvements to the park. These improvements included new playground equipment, park benches, swings, grills, trash receptacles, water fountains, a large picnic shelter, and paved parking.

In 2012, the park received additional improvements through Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreation at no cost to the Town. Two older picnic structures were removed and replaced with a 30-by-40-foot picnic shelter featuring electricity and a sidewalk.

In celebration of the Town’s 100th anniversary, the park received further enhancements, including fresh mulch, decorative streetlights, and a new coat of paint and metal roof for the round gazebo.

Ernest Freeman Town Park is enjoyed year-round and hosts a variety of activities, from private gatherings to community events.

Community Book & Little Pantry

Ernest Freeman Town Park is home to a community Little Library and a Little Pantry, providing opportunities for neighbors to support one another.

Take a book to enjoy and leave a book for someone else to discover! This community resource encourages literacy, promotes a love of reading, and makes books accessible to everyone.

The Little Free Pantry offers a place for community members to share food and essential items with those in need.

These community resources reflect the Town of Stedman’s commitment to kindness, sharing, and supporting our neighbors.
