Stedman Community Plans for the National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 5, 2022
The National Day of Prayer is the first Thursday in May each year. This year’s theme is “Exalt the Lord Who Has Established Us.” The Bible verse chosen to highlight the theme is Colossians 2:6-7— “Therefore, as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude” (NASB).
In observance of the National Day of Prayer, the Stedman community is sponsoring the following event this year:
Prayer in the Park on Thursday, May 5, from 12:00 Noon until 12:45 P.M.
(Ernest Freeman Park, 192 Euclid Street)
It will be led by various pastors/leaders in Stedman and surrounding areas. Please help us spread the word as we return to our in-person gathering after two years of praying together virtually via various platforms on this special day.
Since seating is limited under the covered picnic area at the park, participants might want to bring a chair. In the case of inclement weather, the event will take place in the main sanctuary of Stedman PH Church, 432 Hillsboro Street. As we get closer to May 5, information will be posted on the Stedman National Day of Prayer Facebook page.
This 71st Observance of the National Day of Prayer will be celebrated all over America on May 5. We encourage you to pray for our country as often as you can on that day. Go to www.nationaldayofprayer.org for information about the national broadcast.
